CNN.com had a thing about the film Syriana that was headlined: 'How does it feel to be alive today?'

It's a movie, for fuck's sake. Entertainment for the masses, money for the Hollywood capitalists. Must we be so pretentious, so metaphysical?

How does it feel to be alive today? I can answer that in four words: Better Than the Alternative.

The Bardsbitch Formerly Known as Tatnan's favorite aunt just passed away, and Kidney Gurl's husband just had colon cancer removed only for them to find more cancer in his liver.

'Cos, you know, I wasn't gloomy enough without that.

I need to cheer up.

Yesterday was Heidi's birthday and she's got a spankin' (no pun intended) new layout. And a fireman. Go look.

I found a link to my blog on a site dedicated to "A Master List of Great Activity-Related Blogs for Men."

Huh.

There's no specifically gender-geared activity in here, that I know of, so if you came in through that list, you're welcome to stay, but be forewarned that I'm not sure you're going to find anything you're looking for in here. I drink beer and I like meat that's been cooked over a fire. Other than that, I got nothing.

It's doing that snowy thing where everyone is calling and saying to me, "The weather's atrocious. Why didn't you stay home today?"
