![]() merry stuff 12/26/2005 = 02:52 PM The great advantages to Golfwidowism:
The big holiday of Golfwidowism is Cavort Day (stolen from Marn, Eh) and it occurs whichever day of the year one needs it to. Unfortunately, since Golfwidowism is a religion of one, I am the only one who can give or receive presents on Cavort Day, and they're not surprises because, in being the only member of my religion, I'm also Father Cavort. Even though I lack the necessary bits-and-pieces to be Father Anything. On the other hand, I pretty much get gifts when it's convenient for people to give them to me, and since I have no specific day on which to expect said gifts, I get stuff for Christmas, and Hanukkah, and Chriskwanzukahsticestivuseid. I don't get a lot of stuff. No matter what I observe, or what other's observe, I am embarrassed when people feel they have to get me stuff. I feel greedy and selfish. I try to tell people not to get me things, my ears burning and my eyes prickling, and they send things anyway. Presents can be a letdown, especially when you're a grownup. I prefer not to set myself to be disappointed. So anything I get is a gift, a true gift. Thanks for everything, everybody. Mostly for your friendship. I like your presence far more than your presents. I hope you guys got everything you wanted. Peace out. drinking: nothing that man of meme - September 21, 2008 7:37 PM uncanny danny - September 18, 2008 8:42 AM parrot update - September 14, 2008 1:27 PM frog update - August 30, 2008 10:49 AM
