![]() harry potter and the left field theory 03/12/2006 = 06:09 PM Hey, wait a minute ... Did Sirius say, "Hogwarts isn't safe anymore," in the book, or only in the movie of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? I heard him say it in the movie, but couldn't find an identical quotation in the book (I only did a cursory flip-through). If he did say it in the book, then something's happened to make Hogwarts not safe. But ... even with Dumbledore there? You think? I don't. (Also, there's that brief expression of triumph on Dumbledore's face at the end of the book GoF. It made me feel weird.) What I'm thinking is that, if Hogwarts really (as in, in the book) isn't safe anymore, perhaps the person who looks like Dumbledore and acts like Dumbledore, and might even be an ally ... might not so much actually be Dumbledore. Which could mean that the wizard that Snape killed might not be Dumbledore, and Dumbledore might prove to be still alive. I know. Blah blah desperate-grasping-at-strawscakes. But that line "Hogwarts isn't safe anymore" is bugging the hell out of me. If only I knew whether or not it's a factor in the books. I suppose you are now witness to my official public embrace of my inner geek.
