![]() west wing and a prayer 03/14/2006 = 05:54 PM First off, congratulations to Need Coffee on winning the 2006 Best-Kept Secret Bloggie Award. Translation: My own secret appears to be safe. As usual, I am late with this because I had something more important (to me, anyway) to say yesterday. I'm not so much a pundit as I am a punditz. Anyway. We all know that West Wing Jumped the Shark™ ages ago (I maintain that Rob Lowe's departure did it; other say it was Aaron Sorkin's departure that really closed the lid), and John Spencer's death didn't help the cause. So there's really no point in West Wing's doing anything other than just following the story to its conclusion in the series finale this coming May. Which was, apparently, their cue to Hallucinate a Baltar™. Seriously. Without spoiling it for any West Wing fans who missed Sunday's episode, we'll just say that they started working toward a Moment We've All Been Waiting For right at the episode's opening, and threw a monkey wrench into the works right at the episode's ending. I can't speak for everyone else, but you can bet I'm going to watch every damned episode through to the end now. Way to prepare for a spectacular farewell, West Wing producers.
