Perma Penguin
melts in my brain

Today's the last day to register for the Bahamas contest. All the clues are up. Good luck.

In case you hadn't guessed already, Blog in Space dangled a small carrot in front of my nose to push this contest. Which I fell for, because I am Just That Pathetic. So now I get to be the featured Blog Most Likely to Be Contacted by Aliens on Monday the 10th. I only had to work for it a little bit harder than everyone else who's already had that honor bestowed upon them without having really to do anything other than being themselves.

Not that I'm bitter.

I didn't get punked once yesterday. A lot of people tried, but I was on my guard and mischief was not managed.

Today, on the other hand, I did get punked by Eminem.

I was writing my first beer review in three months (I'm finally off the stuff with the alcohol interaction warnings, so yay) and I opened Merriam-Webster's website to look for a synonym and it opened up with an Eminem popup that slipped out of the way when I tried to close it, snatching my half-written masterpiece from my clutches and leaving me staring in frustrated horror at the vapidness that is Marshall Mather instead.

I used to love Merriam-Webster, but that's just not right. I mean, I so needed another reason to believe Eminem is the Suck. Wiktionary all the way from now on.

Note to Eminem-lovers: I've already covered this in years past, because my hetero-lifemate lurves the M2, but I'll review in case you missed it. Yes, I did go to the library and listen to his music before formulating an opinion, and I have formulated that opinion, and no amount of your arguing is going to convince me that he is some sort of genius. I'm fine with the genre, I just don't like his take on it. Oh-PIN-yun. Okay?

I couldn't decide whether or not to do poetry sorts of things this month, which is, indeed National Poetry Month.

Last year I did thirty haiku, and they were all equally wretched and unappreciated.

I think that, what I'm going to do, is that at the end of this month, I'll cull a selection of random phrases from this month's posts, arrange them artfully, and call it poetry.

Doesn't that sound interesting?

Should be pretty good, assuming I actually remember to, you know, do it.

I think Santos is going to win the election on West Wing tonight, but:

  • I hope they'll find other things for Vinick to do in what's left of the plot. 'Cos I do love me some Alan Alda.
  • It's going to be awfully interesting to see what happens, politically and plotwise, if a vice presidential candidate dies right before the election.

drinking: ice water
watching: Plague
if they have leo die in flagrante: i will be highly pissed. leo (and, for that matter, john spencer) needs to be remembered with more dignity than that
