... as time goes by.

The Mom has just been working on getting my dad set up with the VA in terms of his medications and things. The old fart's giving her a bunch of "Why didn't you bring me here sooner?" as if he hadn't fought her tooth and nail and bitched that he didn't want to go.

If the rest of us didn't fully remember his having done so, the Mom would probably think she herself was going nuts. As things stand — well, we know she is, but we also Daddy's the one driving her that way.

So it's all good.

Sort of.

Anyway, she doesn't need the Gilbert Guide for him, but her friend G, who is another whole kettle of pain-in-the-arse entirely, should probably have a copy. They're available for her area of New York.

The Gilbert Guide is, for the uninitiated, designed not unlike a travel guide, but it is geared specifically toward helping you find the long-term senior care that best matches your needs. It's available in guidebook and online formats. Like a travel guide, it contains ratings and reviews, and the website has the advantage of including frequently-asked questions and a readers' forum.
