I think this might have started life as a meme, but I have it now. Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha.

It is now a ume.

See, my whole month has pretty much consisted of stomping round and muttering, which amuses those around me who automatically assume I'm some perky Eric-Idle-in-drag all the time, so when I whirl around and get all atomic-John-Cleese on them, they're sort of shocked.

Obviously I am in need of some upcheer, but I don't need to be any more self-centered than I already am, this month.

I therefore took this meme and turned it on its ear. It's about you.

Yes, you.

If you recognize yourself, go you.

Also, if you're pretty sure I'm talking about you, it is probably you. I'm not always comfortable telling people right out how I feel about them.

Also also, if you're pretty sure I'm not talking about you, it's still probably you. Just because you think I don't notice you, or you think of yourself as insignificant or not making a difference, doesn't mean you're not just as special as I think you are.

If you're positive I'm not talking about you, well, you know what you did to get yourself onto my Stomping Around and Muttering List.

1. You don't "borrow" my stuff without giving it back.
2. You're a great listener.
3. You make me think about what I'm about to say before I make a fool of myself.
4. Reading what you have written makes me want to be a better writer.
5. You understand what I'm saying — and even when you don't, you pretend you do.

5 things that make me happy ... about you:

1. You smell good.
2. You share.
3. You listen to awesome music, even when you think it's geeky.
4. You tell me if I've done something right ... and you help me when I've done something wrong.
5. You give me time to get over my own self.

6 things I would love ..to give to you ... on a daily basis:

1. A kiss, without tongue.
2. A kiss, with tongue. (Mom, this one is not you, by the way. 'Cos, ew.)
3. Two or three of my world-famous kickass-and-take-names brownies.
4. A check to cover all your bills.
5. A check for buying fun stuff just for yourself.
6. A check for buying presents for other people. (I know it shouldn't revolve around money, but I'm stuck on this planet and I have to face reality, don't I?)

5 amazing experiences I've had ... thanks to you:

1. I quit smoking, which was not an amazing experience in and of itself, but being able to properly taste good beer, is.
2. I am more open to trying new ideas, learning new disciplines, and going new places.
3. I discovered some really good music.
4. I wrote a book.
5. I have become less terrified of being hurt
