Fun Conversation of the Week:

Me: I have a really short span of attention.

Yesterday was one of the few official holidays in Golfwidowism: Michael Palin's birthday. Because it coincides with Cinco de Mayo, it's celebrated with chips, guacamole, beer (or margaritas), and the official toast: "NOBODY expects a Spanish Inquisition!"

So my sweet babboo Andy sent me one of these, amongst other things, in the mail.

Wonderful thing, the U.S. Postal Service.

So it's a food server, commonly used as an ice bucket, but I, I made jerk beef for dinner last night, and served it out of this, and told my guests, "Look. Happy Meat."

I also plan, at some future date, to fill it with ice cream. What do you mean, why? Ice cream don't need no reasons.

We were ready on time. Podomatic broke yesterday. I think they left Andrew in charge. (Diarylanders will laugh at this. Others either will get it and feel my pain, or they won't. I hope you don't. Andrew cheerfully took my money in exchange for bad hosting services for many years before I got wise and cut loose. Podomatic is now losing out because I trust them about as far as I trust Andrew.)

If anything goes to plan, which it never does, so I don't know why I'm telling you this, this episode of the podcast marks the end of the current stint of having The Listener™ as my temporary permanent cohost, which makes me hella sad, but also happy, because, again, if anything goes to plan, that ending marks the beginning of Andy's return next weekend. So he says.

But I'm having The Listener™ back again soon, 'cos I like him. Also, Andy will have him back when my roof blows off.

If everything does not go to plan, I'm still okay with it, because not only will I have another week with The Listener™, but I'll get to use the word "penultimate" about his performance in this week's episode, and I don't get to use the word "penultimate" nearly often enough.

The previous usage of that word was my penultimate usage of it in this post.

That one, just now? Was the ultimate usage of it in this post.

You know what? Never mind. I'm officially sick of that word now.
