I know you're going to forgive me for missing Talk Like a Pirate Day on the 19th, because this conversation is about earrings.

Sort of.

Scene: Bedroom, evening. That Man of Mine is watching telly; I am 'putering

That Man of Mine: Wait, it hurts to take your earrings out?
Me: What are you talking about?
Him: This commercial. It said something about the pain of losing your earrings.
Me (looking up to investigate): They're talking about hearing loss, not earring loss.

And now, the punchline.

Me: So we should probably call the toll-free number.
Him: What?

Argh. (Better late than never.)
