![]() perspective 02/09/2008 = 07:26 AM Boy, I'll tell you, there's nothing like having your friend's husband die suddenly, having another friend's father die after a brief illness, and finding out yet another friend is going to die (ohshitohshitohshit), to put sudden, badly-timed unemployment due to no fault of your own into perspective for you. Hey, I didn't say it cheered me up any. I just said it's in perspective. Seriously, though. Universe? Hello? What the hell did I ever do to you? I wasn't even supposed to be here this era. What did cheer me up was being awake at 4:00 am, feet up on my desk, leaned
back in my chair, sucking No Fear out of the can Which you did not hear from me. Nor did you hear about this site — Do try to use your powers for good. I should probably add, right about now, that at least I'm not suddenly, badly-timedly unemployed due to no fault of my own and sixteen and pregnant. This moment of perspective has been brought to you by the motion picture Juno, which I did not just watch on my computer at 4:00 am. Ahem. I was also vastly, vastly, cheered up by how you all have stepped up and supported me in this my hour of need. And all that, as the kids say. Some of my friends make me cry over how awesome their friendship is, but unlike most of the self-piteous sniveling that's been going on up in here lately, it's a good cry. I'm not going to push the button (heh!) on you any more than I already have, but I'm still selling guest blogs, if you didn't buy one already and would like a day off. (Here's an idea — if you or anyone you know signed up for Blog365 and needs a mental health day, buy one for yourself or as a gift. They're far more useful than, say, chia ... anythings.) Anyway, if you want to see the blogroll of awesomeness or buy a guest post, link's over there, on the left. With all the other links. Yes, I know it's a mess. I am a horrible housekeeper. P.S. Juno was really good. You should see it. Now those of you who don't read the whole post and just comment on the last line have something to talk about. Insert smiley face and "j/k" here.
