prom week day 5

Friday May 2 - PROM!

It's Raining on Prom Day, here.

My prom preparations for the day, as of now (about 10:30 am), consist of having showered and gotten back into clean jammie bottoms and T-shirt, because I am On the Dole.

Activities will be ensuing over at Prom Central as soon as the guest list is all up to date. Check back in, either here or there, throughout the day. I'll be popping in over there periodically to see what's going on, and updating this post.

In between-times, I'll be curled up on the sofa with my blue quilt, listening to music and drinking tea.

Thanks, incidentally, go out to Dixie for the iPod (gifted to me a few years ago) and the mixes (just arrived yesterday — way cool), and also to Mel for my Coach iPod cozy.

Further thanks to Cosmic, one of the guests at my prom table, who sent me the best tea timer I have ever seen in my entire life.

tea timer

Did I need it for tea? No.

Did I need it for comfort, fellowship, and mental therapy? Bet your ass.

All of the above sofa/quilt snuggling, perfectly steeped tea, and music enjoyment, not to mention pressure's-off prom festivities, safe from the weather and the drudgery, have been made possible by my former employers.

Do drive carefully, won't you?

And don't feel bad that no one likes you enough to gift you with music and tea timers, or to invite you to prom. It's just business, after all. Nothing personal.

Nothing personal whatsoever.
