waking up is hard to do

Since I have no real life other than work, library books, and the occasional awesome television show or movie that leaves me, from beginning to end, completely without Mystery Science Theater 3000-style comment*, my subconscious has once again taken over.

I dreamed I had a carousel horse with a V-twin, but John Fogerty stole it from me. Fortunately, the Mom went after him with a baseball bat and got it back. Some of the paint had chipped, and it was gold underneath. I said to the Mom, "Wow, here I was thinking the coolest aspect of this horse was the engine." She said, "Even without the V-twin, it'd still have about one horsepower."

On another night, I dreamed I was in the audience for a Food Network Challenge, but Geof Manthorne fell off a ladder amd Duff Goldman made me come up and help him finish the cake. We were almost out of time, so I grabbed a piping bag, filled in all the empty spaces with little pine trees, and sprinkled non-pareils all over them. Then we were at the judging table, and Kerry What's Her Face, the lady who came in from Australia on a broom** said, "This is a Hallowe'en challenge. Why are there Christmas trees? and I replied, "Commercialism." The audience started laughing (they sounded like the Peanuts™ gang, incidentally) and I was embarrassed, but Duff said, "This is awesome. Now they can rerun this episode in December."

Sometimes I hate waking up.

* Becoming Jane, and I'm pissed because I really only watched it because I wanted to be able to spork the hell out of it.

latest food network stupidity: a wii game. like watching food being prepped without being allowed to taste it wasn't punishment enough. now you want us to do the prep and still not get to taste it.
