thali sounds amazingly good. i've have never had himalayan food, and that sounds delicious!
mostly though, foods with curry don't appeal to me, which is why i rarely eat indian food. please tell me there is no curry in that dish!

[There's cumin, but this place had no curry as such. Mind you, I believe the samples they put in day to day do change depending on what's on their menu.]

i'm sure i'd like thali, though. yum yum. and canadian beer.

[They also had Belgian, Irish, and Indian beers if you don't like Unibroue. Next time I go, I'm going to have a new-to-me beer and write a beer review. -- GW]

have you noticed when you say "i don't like curry" they always say it's only lightly curried, you will hardly be able to taste it. but then, it still has too much curry.
and it isn't so much the taste of curry that i dislike, it's the smell.
it smells like...
(look away now if what i say might ruin curry for you)
stale perspiration. stinky sweat. like somebody hasn't bathed in a week while performing manual labor in hell.
i don't like curried shirt-soaking sweat.

[Okay, that could be a problem, because I think what you don't like the smell of is actually cumin, not curry. -- GW]

hmmmm... i just made up a huge batch of native-thai-style hot green curry, last night.
guess i'd better take a bath. ;)

[I have limes and cucumbers. I'm coming over. -- GW]

You've given me a novel idea GW! A sort of Lotto with tickets for a few lucky bloggers to have dinner with The Golfwidow! Why not? Celebrities (and you are a cool celeb in the Blogworld, GW, face it) sponsor cruises. Why not a Las Vegas dinner? Entrants must obtain a copy of your book before hand, of course. From there the lucky winners will enjoy a cool time over a Fin and are responsible for ther own air fare, hotel and meal. But the point is...hanging out with GW! A great idea, if I may be immodest! :D)

[People, if you're in town, I will totally have dinner with you and pay my own way. No lottery ticket purchase necessary. -- GW]

GW: If by chance I ever find myself in Las Vegas, it would be my honor to sit down to dinner with my pal, The Golfwidow...and I have now read your book 4 times! :D) TA-DA! Fun! Have a nice rest of the week!!!!

[Dinner with you in my new home state would make up for missing you for drinks when I went to your old home state.

(Four times? Good gourd, get a library card. I don't think the Mom has read it more than once, and she helped edit it.) -- GW
