Yes, he did always like Aqua Velva...until he didn't any more. He asked me to get shaving lotion and that's what I bought, and he yelled that I got the wrong thing.

I don't know who that is across the hall; he's listening to the country station. But he is worried about you. That he still knows.

My dad used to sit on the front steps and play his ukelele. I still can't figure out how that didn't embarrass me!

[I think that's actually cool, which was probably why you weren't embarrassed. My dad hung a bicycle wheel off a tree limb in our front yard and called it art. You are totally dad-embarrassment trumped.

I hereby want to shout out to my brother, who will be fêted tomorrow for his very first Father's Day, and who was the hero that finally took a saw to that tree limb (which had grown around the wheel and begun to die) and made our yard normal again. -- GW]

GW: When we were pre-teens, being seen at the mall with out parents was fodder for an embarrassing episode. Oddly, so was being seen getting in or out of a car outside the mall driven by...our parents. Looking back, I am guessing only cool kids rode their bikes to the mall as a measure of independence. Although I went to a rough school where 19 year olds in the 7th grade did drive to school! :D)

[We took the bus to the mall. The bus was only 75¢ in those days, and you got a transfer. My dad was too busy to take us places like that much ... the Mom would take us to the mall on weekends sometimes, but she wasn't embarrassing, so it was all good. -- GW]

ah... but Britney "Spears" ARE weapons. i get gutted everytime i'm surrounded by the tabloids in the grocery line... a queue that is as long as a prison sentence, i swear.
